Further Scriptural Reading To This Theme:
I do know that a man’s ignorance is his own mountain and the knowledge of the truth will set him free. Hence I am leaving you with the undermentioned scriptures to read, to give you a line of food for thought as a way to indicate how the theme of the month will be approach. I therefore commend you to take time to ponder and meditate on them in prayers (Acts 20:32).
“Then spoke Jesus . . . I am the light . . . he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path . . . The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” (Psalms 119:105, 130).
“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” (1 John 5:7).
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:1-5).
“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day 19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:18-22).
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (2 Peter 1:19-21).
“But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” (Malachi 4:2)
“And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. 30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: 31 who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. 32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him. 33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. 34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. 35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.“ (Luke 9:29-36)
“For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. 29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.” (Psalms 18:28-29).
“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.“ (Isaiah 60:1-3).
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.“ (Matthew 5:14-16)
“At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.“ (Acts 26:13).

Brightening Your Life
Brightening Your Life With God’s Goodness!
The good Lord intend to crown our year and flourish our life with His goodness, and to cause our paths to drop with His Abundance. This He will do as we allow Him to brighten our life with His life. More of this will be expanded in course of the pastoral ministry in Church services by our dear pastor, Revd Chukie MORSI. However the following scriptures may be a guide for you. Blessed reading and understanding:
Psalm 65:11-13 “11 You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance. 12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side. 13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.”
Psalm 16:11 “11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Ezekiel 47:12 “12 Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine.”
Proverbs 4: 18 “18 But the path of the just is like the shining sun (light), That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.”

Proverbs 4:20-22 “20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”

Doer of The WORD
TOPIC: DOER OF THE WORD
BIBLE TEXT: James 1:22-25; Psalm 19:7-14; 119:9-16; Luke 4:1-13.
INTRODUCTION: The need to be a doer of all what we have been exposed to as in the Bible teachings cannot be over-emphasized, for the Bible says, if we know and do these things, then are we blessed (Jam. 1:25). Faith without work is dead, to be a hearer and not a doer, will leave a Christians – powerless and without purposefulness in life; and God demand above even other thing that we show forth His praises by doing what He commands us, hereby do we show our love for Him and how great a reward awaits us. (Psalm 19:11; John 14:15).
DISCUSSION:
A. The Nature of God’s Word:
- The Word of God is a light to our path, without which we are bound to stumble along life’s road – Psalm 119:105; 130.
- They are spirit and life to the believer. (John 6:63; Psalm 107:20)
- They are immutable (unchangeable) and settled for ever – Hebrews 6:18; Psalm 119:89
- It is quick (life giving) and powerful – Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:40, 93.
- It is perfect enough to convert and convince a soul – Psalm 19:7
- It is truth on its own and burden lifter and sanctifies – John 17:17; 1 John 5:3b.
B. The Purpose of The Word:
- To present every believer perfect and approved of God: (Acts 2:22 (Luke 4:1-13); Romans 12:1-2; 2 Tim. 3:14-17; Colossians 1:28; 2 Timothy 2:15.)
- To make us grow into maturity: (1 Peter 2:2; Hebrews 5:13-14.)
- To give us an inheritance; (Acts 20:32.)
- To purge us and cause us to think rightly: ( Philippians 4:8)
- That we might know the truth that sets us free; (John 8:32.)
- To give us life: (Psalm 119:93; John 5:39.)
C. What should be our attitude towards the word:
- We must desire it: (Psalm 119:11, 97, 109, 112; 19:10).
- Esteem it better, more important than our daily food: (Psalm 42:1; Job 23:12; Jeremiah 15:16; Matt. 4:4 Deut. 8:3).
- We need to study and meditate and read it, that it might be apart of us: (1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Tim 2:15; Joshua 1:8; Deuteronomy 11:8-20).
- Above all, we need to put it into practice: (James 1:22-25; Rom. 10:8-13).
D. The results of being a doer of the Word:
- We will have an experiential knowledge of God: (Jeremiah 9:23-24; Hosea 6:3, Romans 10:1-2)
- We will be fruitful: (John 15:5, 7, 10, 16.)
- In obeying the word, we do exploits for God: (Joshua 6:20; Daniel 6:10; 11:32b)
- We are strengthened spiritually and otherwise: (Job. 36:11; James 2:25; Psalm 119:93.)
- We grow unto maturity: (1 Peter 2:2; Hebrews 5:14; 2 Peter 3:18.)
CONCLUSION: God is building and raising a people of power and praise that would move unto perfection (maturity) to show forth his praise and doings. We cannot be entitled to be a part of this end-time vessel (army), if we be only hearers and not doers of His words. His Words are powerful; it works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasures. (Philippians 12-13). Let us therefore, take up the challenge.
MEMORY VERSE: “But be ye DOERS of the WORD, and not HEARERS only, deceiving your own self” James 1:22.

Knowing And Feeding On The WORD
TOPIC: KNOWING & FEEDING ON THE WORD OF GOD
TEXT: I John 5:7, 11; John 1:1-5; 17:3; Psalm 119: 1-22; Deut. 17:14-20; Revelation 5:9-10; 1:5-6; 1Peter 2:5, 9.
INTRODUCTION: The BIBLE, Which is the Word, the Will, the Testimony, the Covenant, The Testament of God, has been describe as the “Blessed Information Bringing Life Eternal”. The Christian life is a race, a journey in which there are difficulties, trials, temptations and dangers on the way. The psalmist said, “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, which walk in the law of the Lord” (Ps. 119:1). The knowledge of the Word of God helps to keep us from all defilement’s, for it is “the lamp unto our feet and the light unto our path” (Ps. 119:105). It is a mirror and it is the food that gives energy for the race (1 Pet. 1:23). Ignorance of the word leads to starvation, to bondage, fear and careless living. Through the word, we come to know God and obtain our salvation. It is necessary for our daily living, for through it the quality of our life is improved.
This Word study calls us to know, learn and keep the word of God for our blessings, prosperity and success (Rev. 1:3, Joshua 1:8.) Lets arise in our hearts and graze on this scripture for our now, today and tomorrow.
ASPECTS OF THE WORD: The WORD has three parts to it:
- The LOGOS words, which is written word, i.e. the objective will of God – (Matthew. 4:4.)
- The RHEMA word, which is the revelation or living word, (i.e. the subjective will of God that creates – Gen. 1:3.) Sometimes called the prophetic or spoken word. The Spirit Word of God. (John. 6:63)
- The INCARNATE Word, which is the word made flesh – JESUS – (John 1:14.)
In this study however, we shall concentrate on the Logos, the written or objective will of God. However all the three parts are very important in order of operations: LOGOS – RHEMA – INCARNATE WORD.

- Makes one walk in Ignorance – Jn. 20:9; Acts 13:27; 2Cor. 3:15.
CONCLUSION: Many Christians are living a beggarly life today because of their ignorance of the word. They have failed to go into the scriptures to claim and enrich their life with the blessings of God. Another great sin committed by believers today is their inability to believe completely the whole counsel of God as it is in the scriptures. Do not interpret it to suit your selfishness but allow the word of God to speak to you and then only, you will reap God’s blessings in it. For the Bible is a fortress often attacked but never failing. Its wisdom is commanding and its logic convincing. Salvation is its watchword; Eternal life it’s goal; It punctures all pretense. Trust it, love it, obey it and eternal life will be yours.
Food for thought: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that heareth the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the times is at hand”. –Rev. 1:3 (Jam. 1:22-25, Jos. 1:8, Ps.1:1-3, Deut. 6:4-9; 11:8).
