God desires fruitfulness for all His children. Unfruitfulness is not of God. God is a thriving and blossoming God and delights to see His own, walk and live in this covenant right. Spiritual growth and fruitfulness are proof of our contact with the Spirit of God with all dedication and devotion. To be born again and Spirit filled is biblical. God hates stagnancy. It is either we are hot or cold, but not lukewarm with God – Revelations 3:15-16. For this reason, Jesus cursed the fig tree for having no fruit; and there’s scriptural woe on any of who stays at ease in Zion – Mark 11:12-14, 20-21; Amos 6:1. God has promised to give every single grass in the field the needed rain for fruitfulness – Zechariah 10:1. God pours out His Spirit upon His Children in order that they would be fruitful. I would encourage you to take advantage of this great God given opportunity, in turn fulfilling prophecy as it is written – Joel 2:28-30; Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49. It is a great blemish to remain unfruitful in Zion – Isaiah 4:1; Genesis 29:32; 1 Samuel 1:6; Obadiah 1:17; Hebrews 12:22-24. This study is to remind us of the necessity laid on us to bear fruit as God’s heritage, not any kind of fruit, but after God’s image and likeness.

I dully and fully welcome all visitors and existing browsers into this AFD MAY 2021 EDITION, which is Entitled: FRUITFULNESS & MATURITY IN THE SPIRIT! A month of “Harnessing The CHARISMA and CHARACTER Of The Holy Spirit For Your PERFECTION – Wholeness, Completeness, Maturity and Fulness In Christ Jesus Stead”
WELCOME TO THE DAWN OF MONTH MAY – MONTH OF “FRUITFULNESS & MATURITY IN THE SPIRIT”!
Month MAY is the FIFTH month of the Year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars and the THIRD of seven months to have a length of 31 days. Month May is a month of SPRING in the Northern Hemisphere and AUTUMN in the Southern Hemisphere. Month MAY, been the FIFTH month speaks of PERFECTION, just as the number 3, 7 and 9 has significance Scripturally and being of the number 5 of the year calendar, indicates an opportunity to stir up, harness and actualise in FULNESS, our REDEMPTION by the Holy Spirit is given to us in this essence. Romans 5:5, 8; Romans 8:9-17.
The term PERFECTION – which in essence speaks of WHOLENESS, COMPLETENESS, MATURITY and FULNESS – is of God. Actually, it is of the REALM OF REVELATION of the Spirit, which the writer of Hebrews Scripture exhorts and admonished every Believers in Christ Jesus to endeavour to enter into such realm, in order to manifest, operate and actualise God’s grace and BLESSEDNESS in REDEMPTION. It is a REALM which in essence, will bring us to the place wherein we can be able to escape religious and traditional dogmas, man-made belief, doctrinal creeds and by-laws that are of bondages and such like – Matthew 5:43-48; Hebrews 6:1-9; 2 Corinthians 7:1. etc.
For when Jesus DESCENDED and ASCENDED up on high afterwards, He led captivity captive and RECEIVED gifts – (spiritual endowment) and GAVE these gifts to men; this is for their enablement to be His ambassador and representative on His behalf, for their self-esteem and self-worth, for God’s Kingdom causes and for the good of humanity. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.
These spiritual ENDOWMENTS and ENABLEMENT are summed up as CHARISMA and CHARACTER to fulfil PURPOSE meaningfully. Their essence is to harness the Believer’s by the Holy Spirit toward PERFECTION – meaning WHOLENESS, COMPLETENESS, MATURITY and FULNESS, in Christ Jesus Stead.
It must be noted that a mere spiritual CHARISMA without corresponding CHARACTER breeds arrogance, pride, rudeness and possibly false success in disguise; and a mere spiritual CHARACTER without CHARISMA breeds a form of religion that is dogmatic, traditionalistic, static – (no creative, innovative, initiative and exploring) and without inspiration, revelation and empowerment which is of the Holy Spirit, in Christ Jesus stead.
And by the acts of the Holy Spirit, one can possibly acquire the synergy of FRUITFULNESS and MATURITY in Christ Jesus stead, as RECEIVED and GIVEN to us, when He ascended up on high to ENSURE and ASSURE our access to the blessed REDEMPTION rights and privileges in Him. And FRUITFULNESS as a result of spiritual FRUIT and spiritual GIFTS are of the Holy Spirit; and MATURITY as a consequence of the ministerial GIFTS of the Holy Spirit, is in essence for our PERFECTION (WHOLENESS, COMPLETENESS, MATURITY and FULNESS) as God’s people in His BLESSEDNESS.
I therefore pray today for your onward, upward and forward trajectory in God’s grace and BLESSEDNESS; I pray also that by these endowment and enabling of God, which is of the blessed Holy Spirit will not be frustrated by any reason; but rather, that these enabling endowment that Christ Jesus RECEIVED and GAVE us, in order to be FRUITFUL in CHARACTER and MATURED in CHARISMA, will abound more and more in His grace and stead. Romans 5:1-2; Galatians 2:20-21.
I therefore WELCOME you on God’s behalf, to MONTH MAY 2021 – Month of FRUITFULNESS AND MATURITY IN THE SPIRIT – to harness your well-being, in LIFE and GODLY LIVING unto PERFECTION – WHOLENESS, COMPLETENESS, MATURITY and FULNESS.
I do know that a man’s ignorance is his own mountain and the knowledge of the truth will set him free. Hence I therefore commend you to take time to ponder and meditate on the theme through and through in prayers and where possible accompany with fasting even as the Scripture below do enjoin.
Acts 20:32 “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified”
SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:
“Therefore LEAVING THE PRINCIPLES of the doctrine of Christ, LET US GO on unto PERFECTION; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this will we do, if God permit. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8 but that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. 9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak“ Hebrews 6:1-9.
“Thou hast ASCENDED on high, thou hast LED CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE: thou hast RECEIVED GIFTS FOR MEN; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them” PSALMS 68:18.
“But unto EVERY ONE of us is GIVEN grace according to THE MEASURE of the GIFT of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he LED CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE, AND GAVE GIFTS UNTO MEN. 9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he GAVE some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 for the PERFECTING of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the FULNESS of Christ: 14 that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the EFFECTUAL working in THE MEASURE OF EVERY PART, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love” EPHESIANS 4:7-16.
“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast REDEEMED us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 and hast MADE us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to RECEIVE power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing” REVELATION 5:9-12.
“But the Fruit Of The Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” GALATIANS 5:22-25.
“And I will GIVE you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding” JEREMIAH 3:15.
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that BEARETH NOT FRUIT he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he PURGETH it, that it may bring forth MORE FRUIT. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear FRUIT of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth MUCH FRUIT: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear MUCH FRUIT; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and BRING FORTH FRUIT, and that your FRUIT SHOULD REMAIN: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” JOHN 15:1-16.
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, PERFECTING holiness in the fear of God”2 CORINTHIANS 7:1.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not FRUSTRATE THE GRACE of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in VAIN” GALATIANS 2:20-21.
“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14For the body is not one member, but many. 15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23and those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 26And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way“ 1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-31.
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness“ ROMANS12:3-8.

BIBLE TEXT: John 15:1-8, 16; 2 Peter 1:1-11; Galatians 5:22-23; Mark 11:12-14, 20-21.
INTRODUCTION: God desires fruitfulness for all His children – unfruitfulness is not of God. God is a blossoming God and delights to see His own, walk and live in this covenant right. Spiritual growth and fruitfulness are proof of our contact with the Spirit of God with all dedication and devotion. To be born again and Spirit filled is biblical. God hates stagnancy. It’s either we are hot or cold, not lukewarm with God – Revelations 5:15-16. For this reason, Jesus cursed the fig tree and put a woe on all them at ease in Zion. (Mark 11:12-14, 20-21; Amos 6:1). God has promised to give every single grass in the field rain for fruitfulness (Zechariah 10:1). More so, God is already pouring out His Spirit upon His Children for this task of fruitfulness and you have to take advantage of this great opportunity (Joel 2:28-30; Acts 1:8; Luke 24:49). It is a great blemish to remain unfruitful (Isaiah 4:1; Genesis 29:32; 1Samuel 1:6). This study is to remind us of the necessity laid on us to bear fruit as God’s heritage, not any kind of fruit, but after God’s image.
DISCUSSION (Study Analysis):
1). What does it mean to bear fruit: Matthew 12:33; Luke 13:6-9; John 15:8
a) To reproduce after ones kind
b) To produce good fruit or flower
c) To give birth in ones lineage
d) To behave in a specified manner
e) To yield positive results
f) To exhibit a particular behaviour
g) To have good results
2). Who can bear fruit for the Lord:John12:24; Romans 6:6-7, 7:4; 1John 1:9)
3a). What are the conditions for bearing fruit: (John 15:4-5; 2 Peter 1:5-8)
3b). Is bearing of fruit obligatory or a necessity? (John 15:16; Colossians 1:10; Romans 7:4)
4). Five degrees in fruit bearing: (John 15:1-8, 16)
a) No fruit (beareth no fruit) John 15:2
b) Fruit bearing (beareth fruit) John 15:2
c) More fruit (beareth more fruit) John 15:2
d) Much fruit (beareth much fruit) John 15:5, 8
e) Abiding fruit (fruit beareth) John 15:16
5). Kinds of Fruit We Need To Bear Spiritually:
a) Disciples/Converts (Sinner saved or backsliders restored) Romans 1:13; John 15:16; Luke 15:3-24; Mark 16:15; Matthew 28:19-20.
b) Christian Character (Galatians 5:22-23)
c) Christian Conduct. The fruit of righteousness (right living or behaviour) Romans 6:21-22; Philippians 1:11; 1Tim 3:15
6). Some likely possible cause for a Christian not bearing fruit: (1Timothy 5:6; Isaiah 59:1-2; John 15:2; 1 Samuel 2:9b; 2 Peter 1:4-11)
7). Why must a Christian not be satisfied with being saved alone: (John 15:8; Revelation 22:12; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10; Matthew 21:19; Luke 15:7, 10, 22-24)
8). Consequence of not being fruitful: (2 Peter 1:9-10; Matthew 3:7-10; Mark. 11:14; John 15:2a)
CONCLUSION: We have a duty as a part of the body of Christ to be fruitful. God is no respecter of persons and God has saved and sanctified us so that we may be fruitful in life. Your being fruitful will surely bring good rewards and equally prove that Christ’s death and resurrection to make you live and be fruitful wasn’t in vain; and the Body of Christ (the Church) will not be stagnant because of you. Beloved, there is a promised rain for fruitfulness. Ask for it, you can then live a fruitful life. You can seek for the opportunity today in the house of God, the Church of the living God on earth.
MEMORY VERSE:“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16.
